Members of the Class of 2023, 2024, and 2025, and their wives, participate tonight in their annual evaluations with members of the Deacon Advisory Board. Candidates will be given a specific meeting time and location to meet with members of the Board for the interview.
The Class of 2023 prepares for their summer pastoral assignment by participating with their assigned pastors and deacons in the Pastoral Formation Teaching Practicum Orientation. Immaculate Conception Church and her parishioners are to be thanked for their hospitality!
The Class of 2022 is prepared for their year-long diaconate internship in preparation for their ordination! Pray for them, their wives, the priests and deacons to which they are assigned, and their teaching parishes that all might be filled with wisdom and the Holy Spirit these next months!
All deacons are strongly encouraged to spend a day of convocation with Bishop Deacon and the leadership of the Diaconate Office for important updates and fellowship. Candidates in the class of 2021-2024 will petition for ordination and be admitted as candidates for holy orders and installed as acolytes and lectors at the Mass which begins the morning. The following rituals will be observed: Petitions for Ordination, Oath of Freedom & Fidelity (Class of 2021) Acceptance as Candidates for Holy Orders (2022) Installation into the Ministry of Acolyte (2023) Installation into the Ministry of Lector (2024)
The Permanent Diaconate Classes of 2023 and 2024 participate in the PEP/SVDP visit to learn more about another way that deacons serve the church -- as ministers of charity!
Men engaged in formation for the permanent diaconate and their wives can always use a break to spend time with the Lord! Pray for the members of the classes of 2022-2025 as they make a three day retreat to rest well in the Lord!
