The Office of Black Catholics

We, the Office of Black Catholics, are members of the African American Catholic Community and the Diocese of Baton Rouge. We are committed to seeking full, active participation at all levels of ministry within the borders of the Roman Catholic Church.

Living out our baptismal call through evangelization, we are sent to be a voice of enlightenment and understanding at the diocesan planning and decision-making level; to assist diocesan agencies in the development, coordination and implementation of programs and activities; to keep the African-American Catholics up-to-date on materials, programs, workshops and events on a local, regional and national level; and to provide spiritual, cultural, educational and social nourishment.
