Our Patron
St. Katharine Drexel modeled a life of prayer, faithful stewardship, and service to the impoverished and under-served. Although she came from a family of wealth and prestige, she surrendered all material possessions to pursue her love of God, entering religious life on February 12, 1891, and founded the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. Throughout her life, she supported numerous missions and missionaries in the United States. Her deep desire to equip marginalized groups with religious education led her to establish numerous schools throughout the U.S., including Xavier University, a historically black university in New Orleans. St. Katharine relied heavily on the guidance and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. St. Katharine was beatified on November 20, 1980, and canonized in October 2000. Her order continues to carry out her core values of celebrating the Eucharist, fighting for social equality, and providing quality religious education to all.

Our Chaplain
Rev. Paul Yi has been chosen as the Women's Giving Circle's chaplain. Fr. Yi was ordained in 2008 and is a native of Seoul, Korea. He graduated from Notre Dame Seminary (New) and formerly served as Pastor of Our Ascension of Our Lord (Donaldsonville). He currently serves as Pastor of St. George (Baton Rouge) and is the Secretary of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Baton Rouge.
As Chaplain for WGC, Rev. Yi will pray for the group, be a spiritual guide, and celebrate at least one Mass. -
