Walking with Moms in Need

Walking with Moms in Need of the Roman Catholic Church of the Diocese of Baton Rouge provides parish-based support for pregnant and parenting mothers to ensure that any woman who finds herself unexpectedly pregnant or parenting in difficult circumstances, can turn to her local Catholic Church for assistance with being connected to community resources.  

• To empower mothers by offering emotional and practical support helping them to access the information, services, and support they need for themselves and their child/children. 

• To connect families with local services, including adoption services; addiction or suicide intervention; baby supplies; childcare assistance; counseling; disability support, domestic or sexual violence resources and shelters; education help; employment help; financial help; food and clothing; health services; housing assistance and shelter; low-income legal services; mentorship; parenting resources; and pregnancy or infant loss support.
• To create a network of volunteers and community partners committed to the well-being of mothers and their children.
