In Memoriam: Father Gregory J. Daigle

It is with sadness that the Diocese of Baton Rouge announces that Father Greg Daigle, a priest of the Diocese of Baton Rouge, passed away unexpectedly the morning of 08 June 2025. He was 66 and currently served as pastor of St. John the Evangelist in Plaquemine.

Throughout his priestly ministry, Father Daigle served in a variety of roles:  Pastor of St. John the Evangelist in Plaquemine and Immaculate Conception in Lakeland; Parochial Vicar of St. Theresa of Avila in Gonzales, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in St. Amant, St. Patrick in Baton Rouge, and St. Aloysius in Baton Rouge;  Chaplain at St. John the Evangelist School in Plaquemine; and as a member of the Clergy Personnel Board for ​the Diocese.  
 
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him!

Visitation will be at St. John the Evangelist Church in Plaquemine on 12 June 2025 from 8:00AM until 11:00AM with the Funeral Mass celebrated at 11:00AM.  The committal will take place later in the year at St. George Cemetery in Baton Rouge.
