The ten members of the Administration Secretariat gather for their meeting every other month to fulfill their mission to assist the Bishop in operating the Catholic Life Center and diocesan ministries and apostolates while also providing administrative consultation and services to the parishes and apostolates that comprise the Diocese of Baton Rouge.
The Secretariat for Communications is responsible for the effective and efficient communication of news, events, and any public information released by the Bishop of Baton Rouge. Five members meet every other month to help improve news flow to the clergy and faithful.

The Secretariat for Pastoral Services comprises the departments and persons responsible for providing opportunities for evangelization through pastoral ministry in works of service, leadership, and justice. The Secretariat aims, through its ministries, to help others enter into communion with the charity of Christ; they meet every other month for conversation and effective planning.
On Monday, March 8, 2021, Bishop Duca will dedicate his 8 a.m. mass from St. Joseph Chapel at the Tracy Center to these women. The mass will be streamed on Catholic Life TV Baton Rouge. Please join us in prayer Monday morning.
The Secretariat for Evangelization comprises the departments and persons responsible for providing support to clergy, school, and parish catechetical leaders through consultation related to evangelization and catechesis. Every other month, these eleven members gather for planning and continued dialogue.
The four members of the Secretariat for Catholic Schools meet every other month to provide support for Catholic schools and related programs, assisting them to promote excellence in faith formation, academic rigor, innovation programs, responsible stewardship, and joyful celebration of service to the community.
Our diocese will take up The Catholic Relief Services Collection. Your support of this collection serves Jesus in disguise in some of the most marginalized communities in our world.
Bishop Duca joins Fr. Cleo Milano and the community of Our Lady of Mercy for the blessing of their new Columbarium Garden on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. on March 14, 2021. The event will take place underneath the pavilion in the garden. Families whose cremains have been placed in their niches will be present and the Bishop will impart his blessing.
The Secretariat for Clergy & Religious Life comprises ten departments and persons responsible for providing support not only for priests and deacons, but also the members of religious orders active within the diocese. Also integral to the secretariat are the offices of vocations and seminarians and diaconate formation, which are responsible for aiding those men discerning the priesthood, diaconate, or religious life. The group meets every other month to fulfill their consultative obligation.
Men interested in the permanent diaconate are invited to participate in our fourth of five discernment sessions to learn more about diaconate formation in Baton Rouge! This session will focus on the Pastoral Formation component of the diaconate.
Twice annually, candidates engaged in diaconate formation (and their wives) are required to attend an "Evening of Prayer and Reflection" on a pertinent topic regarding diaconate spirituality. We thank St. John Church in Prairieville for hosting the Office of the Diaconate for this event!
The Collection for the Holy Land, in the words of Paul VI is "not only for the Holy Places but above all for those pastoral, charitable, educational, and social works which the Church supports in the Holy Land for the welfare of their Christian brethren and of the local communities." The Holy Land collection is taken up in most parishes on Good Friday.

The Cabinet serves as an advisory council to the Bishop in administrative matters at the Catholic Life Center. The group meets six times annually in even months (and for emergency needs as determined by the Diocesan Bishop). In these meetings, the Cabinet discusses the workings of the various departments of the Catholic Life Center, develops a ministerial vision, and receives from the Bishop any announcements to be communicated to Department Heads and the Catholic Life Center employees.
