The Diocese of Baton Rouge will once again support a special Collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe. This collection supports the Church in more than 20 countries that still struggle to recover from Communist rule. Funds from this collection support pastoral care, catechesis, building renovations, and seminary formation. Your support restores the Church and builds the future in this region. Please prayerfully consider how you can support this collection!

Mandated by the III Plenary Council in 1884, the National Collection for Black and Indian people continues as the embodiment of the Church’s concern for evangelizing the Black and Indian peoples of the United States. The funds are distributed as grants to dioceses throughout the United States, supporting and strengthening evangelization programs which otherwise would cease. The Collection was formerly known as The Black and Indian Home Mission Collection.

Our diocese will take up The Catholic Relief Services Collection. Your support of this collection serves Jesus in disguise in some of the most marginalized communities in our world.

Join us for our first Walking with Moms in Need Community Baby Shower in the Tracy Center Ballroom. This event is free and open to expecting mothers and families with babies up to 6 months old. Baby supplies, gifts, refreshments, and door prizes along with breastfeeding, pregnancy, birth, baby safety resources and more. Volunteers and community partners needed. Registration required for both participants and community partners.

The Collection for the Holy Land, in the words of Paul VI is "not only for the Holy Places but above all for those pastoral, charitable, educational, and social works which the Church supports in the Holy Land for the welfare of their Christian brethren and of the local communities." The Holy Land collection is taken up in most parishes on Good Friday.

The Catholic Life Center campus will be closed on Friday, April 03 to commemorate Good Friday and the Lord's Passion! Take some time to join our staff in prayer today as we remember Christ's sacrifice for us on the cross at Calvary.

The Diocese of Baton Rouge supports again a special collection for the Catholic Home Missions Appeal. Nearly half of our country is considered mission territory. This appeal helps our brothers and sisters here in the United States who do not have access to basic pastoral services like Mass, the sacraments, and religious education. Through your support, the Catholic Home Missions Appeal helps these mission dioceses form vibrant faith communities and strengthens the Church at home. Please be generous.
